What does an LED sign cost?
An LED display is far from a commoditized product. The temptation to compare to television screens is strong, but couldn’t be further from reality. Unlike other standard commodities that have a uniform build quality and expectations, LED displays vary significantly depending on the manufacturer, use case, and specific deliverables. The cost of designing, purchasing, installing, and maintaining a LED sign varies. One of the primary determining factor in cost is the quality of pixel resolution. Technology is ever evolving and whatever you purchase today will likely be older technology 10 years from now. Depending on your use case future proofing your purchase should weigh in your choice. Additional Sign Components
Some LED installations are simply the screen. You might find those on a pole or a single wall mounted sign. When that is not the case you will be looking at some additional sign components to bring your sign to life. This might be in the form of a decorative identification cabinet above your LED sign or a pole cover to dress up the installation below the LED. Regardless of your project it will be important to establish a relationship with a local vendor of LED sign products. Permitting and Installation
Most government jurisdictions require a sign permit from a licensed sign company contractor in your area. Additionally, a sign company, will also be required for the complex installation of the sign. An installation may include, but is not limited to, concrete, steel, masonry, framing, metal fabrication, and electrical. LED signs are energy efficient, but require more power than you think. Additional upgrades to your current sign power, if replacing, might be necessary. Your electrician or sign company can assist with this estimate.
