Sumner County Family Care Center (SCFCC) is a full-service family medical practice in the small community of Wellington, Kansas. A deep roster of family physicians, registered nurses, and support staff serve the residents of this town, located about 35 miles south of Wichita.

The SCFCC office is located on a roundabout along the city’s primary thoroughfare. As a result, nearly all of the community’s daily traffic passes by the primary care facility, as well as a couple of other medical-related businesses in an adjacent building.

As the partners in the practice continued to expand their services and improve their facilities, they began looking for ways to effectively market their full suite of offerings to current and prospective patients.

“We didn’t have a lot of ways to reach people with our messages,” said Dr. Lacie Gregory. “In a small town, there aren’t a lot of advertising options. Our community newspaper stopped publishing years ago and it’s not really feasible to pay for the unnecessary out-of-town audiences that come with radio and TV.”

As part of the property improvements and office expansion, the doctors reached out to Wichita Sign Company to discuss options for upgrading their static sign cabinet. “For starters, we really needed a more professional-looking sign,” said Gregory. “But we also knew that an Electronic Message Center would be a great way to let everyone know what we had going on.”

A sleek design was proposed that elevated the look of the multi-tenant sign and featured a high-definition Next LED display. The full-color, 10mm digital sign is used to promote new providers, expanded services, and community events. “It’s important for us to be involved in the town,” Gregory said. “A key part of our messaging is to feature events happening at the schools, non-profits, and around the community.”

To further enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the messaging, SCFCC subscribes to the Ultimate Package from Project Content™. According to Gregory, the full-service content creation and scheduling services were a no-brainer. “It was really a business decision,” Gregory said. “This is a busy medical clinic. We don’t have in-house graphic design talent to create great sign content, and the time we save by working with Project Content™ more than pays for the subscription.”

Since its installation in early 2019, Gregory is confident the monument sign has been a significant benefit to the Family Care Center and the Wellington community. “There isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t get a positive comment about the sign from our patients,” she said.
